"Teaching Through Research & Imparting Evidence-Based Knowledge Through Teaching"

Teaching in higher education or academia should promote critical thinking on the basis of evidence-based knowledge gain & transfer. Different media, methods & environments can be employed according to group sizes and specified learning outcomes. Thereby, learning need to be evaluated and follow "Constructive Alignment" of learning outcomes, activities and measures. The list below includes (a) courses & lectures that I am/have teaching/taught & (b) didactic courses I took for my professional development in higher education:

International Certificate of Teaching in Higher Education

Higher education shifts from teaching to learning. Lecturers at universities require professional teaching skills that stimulate sustainable learning fostering evidence-based decision making. Various learning settings at universities (e.g. lectures, seminars, webinars, tutorials, lab work) enable different teaching strategies resulting in different learning outcomes. The list below includes didactic-courses I took for professional teaching development in academia (240 hours):

  • Learning and Teaching at Universities: Psychological Background and Implications
  • How to Make Lectures more Stimulating for Learning Processes
  • Speaking Skills in Higher Education: Ready for Comprehension not Printing
  • How to Plan and Structure Courses at Universities
  • How to Assess Competencies in Higher Education
  • Appealing and Efficient Methods of Teaching for Seminars, Courses, Workshops and Lectures
  • How to Navigate Efficient and Productive Meetings
  • Leading Skills and Coaching A (basics)
  • Leading Skills and Coaching B (advanced)
  • How to be a good Supervisor
  • Developing a Structured Teaching and Learning Portfolio
  • Super and intervision During own and Colleagues' Lectures
